NJHS (National Junior Honor Society)
Induction to NJHS is completed towards the end of seventh grade
and is based upon cumulative grade point average and conduct grades.
Members of NJHS are expected to participate in several community service opportunities
during their eighth grade year and maintain their GPA in order to remain members in good standing.
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
SADD members work to promote a positive school culture among all our grade levels.
In the past they have spearheaded our anti-bullying campaign as well as
participating in several fundraisers and community service opportunities including but
not limited to candygram sales, canned food drive and volunteer work at Metropolitan Ministries.
MUN (Model United Nations)
MUN members take on the role of ambassadors to the United Nations as they research current global issues
and work collaboratively to resolve these issues using MUN Rules of Procedure. Students will participate in
several MUN conferences where they will use their research, writing, public speaking, and negotiating skills.
Last year the Wilson MUN Club received the coveted Secretary General's Award at the Tampa MUN Conference.
Student Council
Student Council members are elected by their homeroom towards the beginning of the school year
and work together to promote school-wide events. In the past these included but were not limited to
organizing school dances, helping at pep-rallies, and sponsoring community service projects such
as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Pasta for Pennies. In addition, school wide officers are
elected to help run student council meeting and represent Wilson at the annual Middle School Forum.
